It's a MINI world.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but I have always lived in a MINI world. Small places for me has always been a source of comfort. From the closet turned into sleeping quarters at boarding school to homes with planned small rooms for an office or sewing studio; I  just feel at home in small places. ( maybe because too, I am only 5 foot tall)

So when Shell introduced me to these new MINIs I knew without a doubt I could come up with some uses for them. Not surprising I had a beautiful 8 room doll house and just last year, I gave it to a family who was struggling, a divorced dad with three young girls whom I just knew would bring years of entertainment for them. I hesitated for a moment of course, that doll house meant a lot to me, but some things even those cherished must find a new home.

So these minis were not going into a doll house. Instead as some of you know, I love photography, so I took some photos of favourite scenes, our white garden, a local fishing hole and a roadside market stand I frequented for years but now abandoned after Mike passed away from cancer. He brought such such joy and wealth of seasonal harvest to our kitchen,  he still lingers at the roadside but mostly in my heart.

So with some mini 7 x5 frames, the photos turned into postcards and a variety of mini and buttons from shellysbuttonsandmore.com
This is what I came up with. They will be a treasure to anyone who loves any of these adventures of summer, and  all can sit on a table or hung up. Or maybe you will just keep them for yourselves. All of these will be sent to Shelly to be sold at the end of the month and proceeds going to local food banks.

The patterns shows all the links to for all of your supplies and how to do secure them onto the frames as well how to make a mini blanket and pillow ( no sewing)

I even added some graphics that are 6 x6 great for printing and getting the wee ones ( buglets) to stick on some buttons.

( This is one pattern that has all 3 images with links to gather all notions and materials needed )

This pattern, shows you all the links where you can get all the supplies
and how to make a mini blanket and pillow without sewing
and 3 postcards that make up these scenes.
( postcards are ready to print or we can supply you them
with kit and frame and pattern)

You choose which minis you would like ( those are extra)

Some thing for the buglets ( wee ones) or the child in all of us.
these are sized at 6 x 6

    1. We do have quite a few mini's here. I saw one the other day and her lights lit up like part of the Union Jack! Years ago my Mark has one of the old white mini's and worked for his father a builder. He took out the passenger seat so he could put the wheelbarrow in!
I think my favourite would be Summer here in a mini convertible! Imagine the fun!

    2. I thought you would have a few there Karen, since you are much closer to the manufactuers, perhaps why ours are so much more expensive. They are much roomier than one expect, a wheelbarrow, now that would be a sight? I adore the convertibles except I am not a sun person, so I would never have the top down lol. But I do have two sun roofs...lol does that count? What season are you in now?
      you matter, mdm samm

    3. It's winter here. Heading off tonight to friends with a big TV to watch Rugby - with no community transmission the teams have organised a competition to all play each other instead of NZ, South Africa and Australia. Hope you have a wonderful weekend xxx

Will be working on that one for sure. and a fellow mini cooper owner, there is something about owners of mini coopers that you just want to squeeze. 8. These frames are such great ideas! I love the fishing one - going to have to keep that in mind for next year's father's day. As I'm a craft show maker, I can't wait to see what you do for Christmas themed ones... my mind is already moving to Christmas and the Christmas cards are starting on my work table next week. Spending 3 weeks in the summer pre-making Christmas really makes me feel less rushed in the fall.

  9. Mdm Sammn I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your projects. I was trying to send a picture of an old barn. When we go out on our "Sunday Drives", I always look for old barns. If they could talk, the things they could tell you would be interesting. They would tell you about the kids climbing in their hay lofts and around and the farmer maybe bringing in the cows to be milked, or about the weather they've been through, the snow, rain, and the wind. They are beautiful treasures of history. I wonder how you could make one with buttons.

  10. Hello my sweet lady who loves barns, you paint such a lovely picture in my mind....So yes yoru next outing, please capture a photo and send it along, I am sure your visual will speak volumes too. You will be surprised at how "buttons" could make it come to life. Possibly why I have loved for decades shellys buttons are so unique. Cheerio. mdm samm
