Jam Notes

all images (graphics, photos, link to buttons, embellishements and minatures)

With so many kids at home these days and parents wondering how to engage them in some crafts all the while teaching them:

Math
Color
Shapes
Cutting

I came up with some Button IDEAS!

( images will take you to purchase page)

Button Project #1

I call them Jam Notes, using Color bag buttons from Shellybuttonsandmore.

There are a few steps but with some help from parents or grands
they will be able to make a few jars of jam for keeping or giving away.
You can add seed beeds for the seeds in their jam, and with a variety of button team them up with colors, sizes. You can add
ribbon and labels too. ( let me know if you are interested in how to do them step by step)

Button Project #2

I also came up with this idea. We can do up some Card Stocks ( poscards style, 5 x 7 )
if you like- a collection of 3 so your wee ones can stick buttons onto them.  Make them into kits complete with buttons too.
How about:
*Name the favorite foods in these colors.
*Their favourite cartoons, movies, shows, searching for names with these colors in the title.

They can color them and then add buttons too.

You will be able to find all of our patterns listed here on Instagram and Pinterest too.

  1. Miss H is taking 10 large boxes to Pre-school tomorrow. She is the outside teacher this week. What fun to be had as they create a village to play in. Ideas for children are the best!

  2. Hi Karen, Miss H, must be thrilled to get back as her children will be...Not sure we will see that anytime soon here, they are still being very cautious and everyday something happens to delay "opening doors to everywhere" ....Gosh this is sad for so many. Let her know we are cheering her on....

  3. We certainly have been very fortunate being a little country at the bottom of the world, and our only cases now are ones with returning people and they go straight into isolation. Most things are like normal, but there have been lots of job losses and I think there will be more when our wage and business subsidies finish in the next 6 weeks.

    1. WE are seeing that here too, many of the restaurants for example are only to be open if they have outside patios. Of course our summer is coming to and end, so our winters are brutal- we will no doubt see many changes, but like all changes, people come up with new ideas....WE do get boxes of food with prepared meals to our home once a month. And they are really good. So already some companies are looking at new business models. Our cases are creeping up, so we don't think schools will be opening and if they do they will be going on a rotating schedule whereby the kids will be fewer in classes and possibly only going in 1-2 x a week. A challenge for the teachers...x

  4. Gosh, that will be a real challenge for the teachers! So very hard to keep track of how children are really coping. Our tourism industry has crashed. Such a large percent rely on overseas travellers, and they are all gone. Some businesses as you say can pivot ( the in word here at the moment ) and have met the challenge. Others haven't had enough working capital to keep going. Even our big businesses are shedding people. xx
