B-B's ----Button-Bobbys

For every theme button Shell distributes at Shellysbuttonsandmore. there are hundreds of ways we can use buttons...

I called these Button-Bobby's, because with a variety of buttons, some bobby pins and some 600 glue, you have a sweet hair accessory.

I made a few, in different themes...all themes will link to buttons I used.

A few weeks ago, I picked up these journals from Costco. your Sams Club link above, only black ones there, but I know Costco has these.
They are a soft faux leather cost under $15.00 for the 3 of them
and with my E6000 glue and some buttons that are my fav themes added them to my covers...

You need to cut off the shanks of the backs so they lay flat, tried a glue gun but that glue was not strong enough to hold...

Let us know how we can do better..

Screen Maid--- she wipes all fingerprints.

Having a Screen Maid makes sense to me, she has this unique ability to wipe all those nasty fingerprints from all of your screens. And you only have to pay for her once. (Although you may fall into a seasonal change of wardrobe) I had a difficult time stopping at a dozen. +

Even with print-free screens they are adding to ipads and iphones and laptops, they constantly leave fingerprints, I just had to think of something... So being the lady I am, thought why not a cute skirt with an apron that has a function and a backing with a special backing  that erases those fingerprints like magic.

I love her name too as she reminds me  of an era long gone where women wore dresses and aprons in their kitchens and they were even known to wear some pearls at times. Ok, maybe that was just in the movies but still, life just seemed simpler.

Now these Screen Maids are easy to make and I guide you with multiple photos so you will be able to construct one or many which as been my experience.

I even put together some kits, everything you will need to make one, all the layers, fabrics, ribbons, and of course buttons from Shellysbuttonsandmore.  Riley Blake Fabrics are always my first choice to create and design because they have such a variety of basics and some very unique new collections that always making me quiver...

I made some Screen Maids with velvet, quilted fabrics, and Halloween and Christmas... I know this will be perfect gift to send from some of my friends. My darling hubby who came up with the name, he is always my biggest fan also wants me to come up with a unique design for men, (already on it, so stay tuned for that very soon).

A question that I get asked constantly, "how do you keep coming up with these ideas?" I wish I knew-- they just come to me, I will look at the countless graphics I have designed over the decades and sometimes they will stir me to design something new. And then I sit with my pencil and freezer paper, (my perfect staple for patterns) and draw and cut out a pattern and voila, it just comes together.

So if this creates any excitement for you, support designers, button makers and we will continue to bring you some unique ideas...

Love this plaid, with her cute gift button. there is just something

We have you covered ......

I call these hand towels  “wipe those tears " for many reasons.  When you reach the winter season of your life you realize there are fewer seasons to cherish and celebrate. So I shed a tear or two, don’t you?  Aren’t you sad to see the seasons drop off so quickly?  Hand towels may suggest I was unstable if I cried that much so these mini hand towels are really perfect. ( I do shed a tear especially when I have done a shift with crisis text line)

If you are anything like me, you may celebrate certain events per year, Summer, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas. So with the boundless collections of buttons Shelly at shellybuttonsandmore.com has to offer, look what transpired. My biggest dilemma was figuring out which button was going to adorn each mini towel.  As I wanted them to still be usable I only choose one for each with the exception of the Christmas one as those gingerbread were nice and flat.

So these little treasures are inexpensive to say the least but look like they came from a specialty shoppe. I even added all the sweet tidbits where you can find the mini hand towels, of course all the button links and some exceptional display pieces to display your wipe those tears towels.

Please no tears, we have you covered.

We have you covered for when you say toodles to summer. !
If Halloween scares you to tears, we have you covered again!

If you are so grateful for Thanksgiving for all extra helpings
and a tear escapes you, we have you covered!

If those Christmas Hallmark movies has you shedding a tear or two,
we have you covered!

What I used to display these seasonal
wipe your tears towel ( in the pattern)

All these buttons are from Shellysbuttonsandmore.com
Here are the links for each season below....

All the time I was setting up this post I listened
to Van Morrison...OMG he moves me
 me to tears....

my favorites- Into the Mystic
Have I told you lately....
ohhhhhh Crazy LOVE...

Give yourself a treat.....he may bring you to tears too!
and don't worry we have you covered...

It's time for some SWEET TEA

Just a sneak peak of what I have been working on for this weeks project, I had taken some photos so with an app I was able to at least show you this. Hardware is still on route to me so pattern won't be available till the end of the week.

I call these my SWEET-TEA Coasters. As August always seems to be unpredictable for weather, as I write this we are told a tornado is heading to us. My darling husband is on its path has he heads home. So I will keep this short but wanted to at least let you know, I have been busy sewing many of these, so looking forward to showing you the variety I put together and look a chef's hat on the tea holder... I am in awe of the variety of buttons that Shelly has on her site.

A sweet reminder it is always the little things that can sweep you up.
Buttons do that for me along with these Sweet -Tea Coasters.

They have a pocket in them to add a message to a special person or you can place your cookie or biscuit inside. What I loved the most was coming up with a variety of combo's that reflect any and all personalities.

The pattern will show you a unique way of sewing irregular shapes
by layering them all together and sewing once and turning right side out....voila, each one will be as perfect as your last.

I have to dash, it got very dark here and the winds have picked up speed.... Grabbing my ragdolls and heading to our basement.

All of you who are in the path of this storm, be safe.

YOU Matter.
Mdm Samm

Next day....the tornado passed us by, so we can embrace yet another new beginning. So here are a couple more of Sweet Tea Coasters that I completed.

I have this passion for yellow gingham and black, My studio are these colors. It stems from my Nanny her kitchen was yellow gingham and white, and as long as I can remember, she not only decorated with gingham but wore it too. Even after years of her passing she lives in my heart and soul.

This is where I create, design and sew. My favourite room in our home through all seasons ...there are your right is a photo of her in her yellow gingham and white kitchen. And yes
she was wearing a yellow gingham outfit.

and more....

I am going to load these up, as I will be sewing more today,
waiting to complete pattern once my hardware arrives.

Let us know how we can do better?

You matter,
Mdm Samm

P.s what a long wait, but hardware is here and I just completed the pattern - YEAH.....!

Delay this week for my post

Hello craft and sewing peeps.

My new hardware has been delayed and my phone does not have the software for me to add my post this week. This weeks holiday has slowed down our mail and I just received notice it would not be here till Friday.  I am busy sewing my project but working only from a phone makes it challenging. So bear with me as we work around delays.

I was able to get last weeks post up as most of my work was backed up on a hardrive, any hardware I have
available to me just does not have the software to write my pattern or load my photos. So there you have it, sometimes we need to capture that some things are just totally out of our control.

See you soon. Mdm Samm
